Offset yield
WebbOffset yield, also known as proof strength, is an arbitrary point on the stress-strain curve that is applied to samples where the true yield point is not easily defined. Steel and Aluminium alloys may not clearly show a yield point, so the offset yield is calculated. It is normally expressed as a percentage, such as 0.2% offset yield.
