However, yield and cell type is highly variable and the number and proportion of excitatory versus inhibitory neurons changes over batches and across genetic backgrounds ( Micali, 2024 ). WebBased on conserved developmental principles, we have developed a simple but highly efficient platform to convert human PSCs into neural tissue. We have shown that dual-SMAD inhibition via small molecule inhibitors of BMP and TGFb/Activin/Nodal signaling is sufficient to trigger neural conversion.
