Anything else is a bonus. -Volunteer for patrols, being RTO, or random details. For one, it gets you out of security. Two, it gives you a chance to learn and gain experience, which is the whole purpose of camp. WebRucking. Rucking SUCKS. I still hate it after all this time but Advanced Camp is not one of those special Army Schools like Ranger, Sapper, SFAS, etc. You won't live with your ruck on. Like other users have said, you will spend a lot of time in security. You will fall asleep on your weapon. You will sleep through your fireguard shift.
